So, I had a wonderful interaction with Rae over at http://www.madebyrae.blogspot.com/, and swapped her some Cloth Diaper Covers for her patterns and rights to sell the super cute Buttercup bags, and the Lickety Split bags. I am going to Goodwill tomorrow (it's 50% off saturday!) to look for some vintage linens to make the lickety split bags. For now, I will leave you with pics of the B-Bags, available for sale now in my etsy shop. I have 2 more yet to snap pics of, and 2 more cut and waiting to be sewn. I lay in bed at night, filled with frantic pregnancy energy, thinking about sewing! I love making these bags, and am having so much fun designing them in my head!

I'm a Bad Blogger
Okay so- I'm a really bad blogger. I really have good intentions, I promise, but just find far more important things to do than blog. Don't get me wrong, Dear Reader, you are important to me! I have been VERY busy sewing sewing sewing, and finally finished a big project for the girl's preschool and finally have time to do some fun sewing. I just got the rights to make and sell Buttercup Bags and Lickety Split bags. Both of the patterns are over here at madebyrae.blogspot.com
I have a few butterecup bags done, and they are so tiny and yummy! I long for the days when I can use a tiny purse again! I will post pics soon! Also, I am hoping to have them in my Etsy shop tomorrow. WooHoo!

Our Family Vacation!
After finding out our exciting news about Woodruff Girl #3, we packed everything up and drove over to San Diego with my in-laws to spend a few days at the beach. We got a beach house in Mission Beach, right between the harbor and the beach, and the girls did fantastic. It was such a nice reprieve from the stifling Phoenix summer. We took our first trip (of many, I'm sure) to Disneyland. It was a little much for the girls after spending the day before at Legoland. Legoland was fantastic for our kids, given their ages. It was a wonderful day!

IT'S A GIRL, AGAIN!
Well, we had our 18 week ultra-sound today! Our third little girl is on the way! I am excited, but was hoping to get a little blue in the house...ah well! Avery and Carolina are excited, and were so cute watching the ultrasound video I brought home. Carolina kept saying "Awe, baby so cute."
Avery wants to name her "Potato". Hmmm, we'll have to discuss that one!

Camera Bag/ Sunglasses holder
Forgive this post (one of my firsts!) Pics are really tiny!
For our anniversary last year, my in-laws got us a fantastic camera. As this was 7 months ago, I know we are tempting fate by not having a camera-bag, and taking that thing everywhere! We are headed to San Diego this week, and I figured it was time to take care of business. I had been looking at camera cases casually, but was horrified at all the black techy zipper stuff. Yuck! Anyways, whipped this little guy together in about 30 minutes.
I started by sewing one side of the velcro to one side of my flap pieces. Once I sewed it, I made the flap by sewing the 2 pieces right sides together, with the velcro sandwiched in the middle.
I sewed the top flap pieces (right sides together , with the velcro on the inside) into the flap shape.
This is the almost finished product. I just added a few pieces of velcro to the ribbon, so i could attach it to the stroller, or my wrist,or whatever.

2 in. piece velcro (front and back)
Inner fabric - 2 pieces each cut the size you need your finished bag to be
Outer Fabric - 2 pieces each cut the same as the Inner
2 small pieces fabric for the flap - as wide as your bag will be, as long as you want
So now I have the flap (turned right side out, pressed, and top-stitched), my inner lining (I didn't want to deal with batting, so I used a cool funky chenille). I sewed the lining into the size I needed to hold the camera, and cut my outer fabric to match. ( I needed 3x5), so I have 2 pieces of 3x5 outer fabric. Sew the outer pieces on 3 sides (right sides together).
Along about this point I realized I would want a strap on it, so I threw in a piece of grosrgrain, too!
Here are all of the pieces, ready to be pinned together.
I pressed in the seams at the top of the inner pouch, and the outer.
Then, I topstitched around the top, removing the pins as I sewed.
This is the almost finished product. I just added a few pieces of velcro to the ribbon, so i could attach it to the stroller, or my wrist,or whatever.
Voila! And much cuter than the"Best-Buy Special!"

Virgin Post
Okay all, this is my first post! I am new to blogging, but have been urged by friends to share my "Crafty Ways" with others! Here you will find lots of fun things to do with kids, recipes (although I'm not making much from Cook's Illustrated, lately- more like my Grandmas cooking- all kid friendly!), Recession-ista tips, etc.
A little background about me-
About 6 months ago we had to close our little baby boutique. We had been open about a year and a half, and just couldn't muscle through these tough times. Our specialty was baby-carriers, cloth diapers, bonding products, as well as cute boutique items. I miss it terribly, but am ready to move on to the next big adventure- Baby #3!
Avery (4) and Carolina (2) will be joined by a little brother or sister in November. We are excited and anxious to see how our family dynamics will change- yet again!
